Christmas Cake

I was asked to do a cake for a Christmas party that would also serve as a centerpiece. This 60 serving Christmas Present cake gave me a chance to practice covering a cake with fondant. I like cakes to just be frosted in buttercream (I think they taste better), but fondant is easy to pick off if you don't like it and sometimes design demands fondant.

Wedding Cake

I did this wedding cake about 9 months ago. I was flustered by my first wedding and forgot my camera to take a picture. The bride just sent me this one. It was a white cake with fresh strawberries within the layers.

My sister asked me to make a Bob the Builder cake for her Single's Ward Bishop. I guess he's in construction and reminds her of Bob the Builder. I liked this cake because of the different textures in it. I like to combine buttercream frosing with fondant decorations. I have two other new cakes in the Children's Cakes Gallery, the Princess Cake and the Dinosaur Cake.

Two new cakes have been added to the Children's Cakes Gallery and one new cake has been added to the Sports Cakes Gallery. Check them out!

Soccer Party

On Saturday, my oldest daughter, Alexis had her end-of-season soccer party. She had seen a similar cake in a book at Michael's and wanted it. Her team is called the Stars. She has been on it a few years and loves to play.

Lightning McQueen

I made this Lightning McQueen cake for my son, Seth's 2nd birthday. It was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. The cakeboard is covered in fondant to look like a road. The cacti and banner are fondant also. He loved it!
